The melancholic Prince Leonce is disheartened as he thinks too long and hard about the purpose of his existence. Moreover, his mother (the queen) has arranged a politically advantageous marriage for him, which doesn’t help matters. His intended partner, the more cheerful Princess Lena, is similarly reluctant to agree to the match, and they both run away to the forest—Leonce with his companion, Miss Todd, and Lena with her governess, Kindermädchen. Don’t miss this comedic and deeply philosophical modern fairy tale!
