Performances by Andy Hudson have been hailed as “a treat for the listener” (IAWM Journal) and have been praised for “an uncommon singularity of purpose, technical virtuosity, youthful vigor and a mature sensitivity” (The Clarinet). An “inspiring” (Musical Merchandise Review) and “fearless” (Cacophony) performer, Hudson has appeared in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, at Chicago’s Symphony Center, and as a concerto soloist at The Midwest Clinic. Hudson recently performed as guest principal clarinet of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and North Carolina Opera, and he frequently joins the clarinet section of the North Carolina Symphony. He was appointed bass clarinet/III clarinetist of the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra in 2020. Hudson is clarinetist and co-artistic director with the mixed sextet Latitude 49, whose albums include The Bagatelles Project as well as Wax and Wire (New Amsterdam). Hudson is currently an assistant professor of clarinet at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Full bio

Anthony Taylor is an associate professor of clarinet at UNC Greensboro, principal clarinet with the Winston-Salem Symphony, and second/E-flat clarinet of Eastern Music Festival. He performs regularly as an extra with the North Carolina Symphony, on clarinet and bass clarinet. One of his new projects includes developing a new two-clarinet duo with his UNCG colleague Dr. Andy Hudson, and they believe that world domination through clarinet performance will soon be within their grasp. Recent concerto performances as a soloist include Donald Crockett’s recent Dance Concerto for Clarinet/Bass Clarinet, the Mozart Clarinet Concerto (on basset clarinet), Adams’ Gnarly Buttons, Martin’s Concerto for Seven Winds, and McAllister’s Black Dog. Taylor has made two recordings with New Music Raleigh—the first focused on music of D.M. Sparr and the second on the opera introspective Headcase by Brett William Dietz. Full bio
