The members of Klockworks Collective are all former saxophone students of Professor Lynn Klock (University of Massachusetts, Amherst).

David Pope,  tenor saxophone has served as JMU’s saxophone professor since 2000.

Angela Space, soprano was a member of the faculty at University of Southampton (UK) and she currently splits her time as a musician and as a fine artist.

Wayne Tice , baritone served for 20 years as principal saxophonist with the United States Army Academy Band at West Point. He is also an expert on the concert saxophone music of another UMASS legend, Yusef Lateef.

On alto, George Weremchuk is Professor of Saxophone at University of Central Florida. He has recorded with groups as diverse as the New World Symphony and jazz legend Sam Rivers.

Klock, Pope, Space and Weremchuck performed internationally for two decades as the Pioneer Quartet, with notable appearances at the World Saxophone Congress and conferences of the North American Saxophone Alliance. While plans were being made to invite him to JMU, Lynn Klock passed away suddenly in 2025. The formation of this new ensemble serves to honor a great mentor while continuing to pursue a shared passion for chamber music. The program will feature pieces that celebrate Klock’s legacy and his impact on generations of saxophonists around the world.
