PHOT BY EM WATSON

"... they sent the audiences into uproarious applause."

The New York Times

The powerhouse all-male Argentinian dance company Che Malambo performs a percussive dance and music spectacle created by renowned choreographer Gilles Brinas that celebrates the unique South American cowboy tradition of the gaucho. “The men dance with a power and passion that builds into a kind of ecstasy…” (The Boston Globe) Malambo began in the 17th century as competitive duels that tested skills of agility, strength and dexterity amongst the gaucho. It soon evolved to include fast-paced footwork inspired by the rhythm of galloping horses. Today, malambo is a dynamic blend of precision footwork, rhythmic stomping, drumming, singing, and whirling of boleadoras (lassos with stones on the end). This exhilarating show has captivated audiences across the globe. Don’t miss it!  www.chemalambolive.com
