New York City-based artist Antonio Serna (b. 1974) will bring together several bodies of work to create an immersive solo exhibition featuring his regular and numerous ongoing series that speak to the social and cultural aspects of fine art, community, and organizing. These include Documents of Resistance: Artists of Color Protest, Energy of Place - Lloyd X Latimer, Cultural Roadmap for NYC’s Cultural Plan, and People’s Monument to Anti-Displacement Organizing. Serna promotes self-organized cultural events, research, education, and artist-as-activist interventions as a member of Artists of Color Bloc, a cultural worker advocate group focusing on artists of color, and Arts & Labor’s Alternative Economies Working Group, an Occupy Wall Street activist group that organized “What Do We Do Now?,” the first alternatives economies fair and resource guide for artists in New York City.  www.antonioserna.com
