Bassist Nina DeCesare joined the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in 2020 after five years with the Oregon Symphony. She has appeared with numerous major orchestras including the Seattle and Houston Symphonies and in renowned chamber music series such as Third Angle New Music, 45th Parallel, Classical Up Close, and Chamber Music by Candlelight. A passionate teacher, she has led master classes at the Peabody Institute, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute and Michigan State University, and served as faculty at the Pittsburgh Double Bass Symposium, KC Bass Workshop, the Twin Cities Bass Camp, and the Rabbath Institute Los Angeles. DeCesare began playing the bass while studying with renowned pedagogue George Vance, later working closely with Ira Gold and Hal Robinson.
