Take your family on a magical journey into the ocean, learning all about opera along the way! Based on Czech composer Antonín Dvořák's masterpiece "Rusalka," this charming, 35-min adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid is sure to delight audiences of all ages. Rusalka longs to leave the ocean and join the human world above. But when her magical pact with a sea witch requires her to give up her voice, Rusalka must overcome great obstacles to obtain her heart's desire. Filled with some of the most beautiful melodies written for the operatic stage, this inaugural Family Opera is an event you don’t want to miss! Recommended for ages 6 and up. Performed in English.
