“A Hero’s Journey” - A collaborative concert reading of the 7th Age of The Lord of the Rings.”
This concert will feature a narrated reading of a script written by Concert Band member Brandon Stees, with carefully curated music provided by the JMU Concert Band. Journey alongside Brandon and his team of adventurers as they navigate through present-day mythological conquests, while enjoying music from composers such as Alfred Reed, Samuel Barber, and even one of our current composition students, Mr. Daniel Huggins, for his premiere of “Of Myth and Monster.”

The Concert Band is the largest ensemble in the band program, performing a diverse range of wind band repertoire. The Symphonic Band ensemble performs music ranging from the best of the core repertoire to the latest in contemporary composition and is under the direction of Christopher Cicconi.
