Please join Addison Walton, DMA candidate in the JMU Choral Area, for her Lecture Recital: Corporeality in Choral Sound: The Elements of Consonant Diction that Shape Pre-Expressive Presence, Listener Perceived Clarity, and Expression in English-Language Choral Music. Addison’s seminal study has led to exciting discoveries for singers to ever-better express the deepest meanings of music! Addison will be joined on stage by this year’s a cappella ensemble, the Madison Chorale (the combined Madison Singers and JMU Chorale), who will both demonstrate multiple examples from the study results as well as present multiple concert offering. Repertoire includes: The Lamb, John Tavener; The Blue Bird, Charles Villiers Stanford; Hear My Prayer, Moses Hogan; How Do I Love Thee? Eric Nelson; and Elaine Hagenberg’s Measure Me Sky.
