Houston Ballet II to introduce The Sleeping Beauty Act III (1890) at Forbes Center for the Performing Arts March 25-26

Houston Ballet II’s program features a stunning selection of works, including The Sleeping Beauty Act III (1890), staged by Ben Stevenson after Marius Petipa, with a soaring score by Tchaikovsky, the Grand Pas de Deux from Don Quixote, Act III, and A Dance in the Garden of Mirth, with choreography by Stanton Welch, the acclaimed Artistic Director of Houston Ballet.
Audiences will experience the grandeur of the timeless French fairytale as the beautiful princess Aurora, cursed by the malevolent fairy Carabosse, is awakened by true love’s kiss. This masterful production, originally staged by Stevenson in 1978 and revamped in 1990, showcases the artistry and precision of Houston Ballet II’s dancers.
