Crowned the 2024 North American Brass Association Championship Section winning band, the JMU Brass Band is one of the most successful collegiate brass bands in the world today. Formed by Professor Kevin Stees in the Fall of 2000, the group maintains an active schedule, performing regularly throughout the academic year, and has been a featured ensemble at numerous festivals and conferences worldwide. The JMU Brass Band is currently ranked in the top 50 brass bands worldwide. The Massanutten Brass Band, from Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley, was formed in September of 2001 and has developed a loyal and enthusiastic following of brass band enthusiasts.
